Facilities

The University Library is in the service of the University to offer information necessary to pass over and enhance knowledge by means of education. To achieve this we offer the following products and services:

Study facilities

In the rooms for study purposes students can study alone or in groups.
Users daily get the opportunity to browse or read several newspapers.

Information mediation

Special information needs, which can not be satisfied by the information desk at the loan department, should be submitted at and will be answered by the Department of Information Mediation (info.adekbib@uvs.edu).

Interlibrary loan

Interlibrary loan is a form of resource sharing among libraries nation- and worldwide.
With our Interlibrary Borrowing and Lending system (IBL) upon request of the users research materials, which are not available in the collection of the Library, are borrowed from other (local) libraries. We also have an IBL-relation with libraries abroad.

Cyberhall

Our Cyberhall offers facilities for internet use, word processing, print-outs, searching for scientific information on various CD-ROM's, etc. An employee is always available for assistance.

As from November 2005 the University Library has the status of the Caribbean Trade Reference Centre (OAS), a centre where users can find texts of trade agreements, investment agreements etc. (www.sice.oas.org). A PC in the Cyberhall has especially been made available for these activities.

Reproduction

Users are assisted with photocopying of material, to be consulted in the library. There is also the opportunity of binding of documents.
